Monday 16th March 2020 - 9:30am: Today I will start my work on my initial ideas for my FMP. I plan to create three mind maps (one for each theme) in order to try and spark some ideas. I am going into the project hoping to make a short film so will be hoping to think up a storyline.

- I have just finished all my mind maps and uploaded them to the blog. I decided to do the mindmaps with pen and paper as I believe It was easier to do this.
- The Mindmaps I have created clearly show that memory would not be a good theme for me to base the FMP on due to the lack of ideas surrounding it I could out down on the Mind Map.
Tuesday 17th March 2020 - 11:04am: Today I will begin spending time researching into topics relating to my two remaining themes. Hopefully this will allow me to generate some ideas and decide which theme is stronger for me to do.
Tuesday 17th March 2020 - 12:22pm: This lesson I have started hood progress into looking at the theme of travel for my FMP. So far I believe I have discovered lots that I can work with from just looking at the pure definition of the word travel and looking at some films associated with humans traveling. Next lesson I will look at travel relating to object and lifeless objects.

Thursday 19th March 2020 - 9:13am: Today I have decided that I will finish up the last little bit of my research into travel to help develop my idea and begin to look into the topic of mental health and see what Ideas I can spark regarding around that. This is despite me having developed some firm ideas in my head around travel.
Thursday 19th March 2020 - 10:25am: I did complete my research on Travel this lesson and am still swaying towards a travel storyline however, I am still researching mental health just to assert my confidence. I made a good start on this in today's lesson.

Thursday 19th March 2020 - 2:26pm: In this lesson I spent my time watching short films around the theme of Mental Health in order to understand more. I also completed a load more of my research into the subject. I do believe my work in this lesson was a good quality however I do not think I did as much work as I could have done because I lost my workflow after watching the films. I then became unmotivated and procrastinated.
Friday 20th March 2020 - 11:27am: In today's lesson I will go back to the theme of Travel because I have decided that this is the topic which I want to focus on. I will begin to start plotting down the idea which I have had in my head. This has been developing since I did my research.
Friday 20th March 2020 - 12:15pm: Today I started plotting down my ideas for my short film story line to fit with the idea of travel. I will work on this more next time and polish up my idea and look into the logistics and practicality before moving onto starting the proposal.
Monday 23rd March 2020 -10: 47am: Today I am going to work out the story line I want to use for my project. This will allow me to start working on my proposal tomorrow so I can have the first draft complete by the end of this week.

Monday 23rd March 2020 - 2:30PM: I will spend some time ensuring I have finished writing up my first polished idea for the story before I begin to make a start on the first draft of the proposal.
Monday 23rd March 2020 - 3:14pm: I have now started on my proposal first draft. Today was my first day working at home due to the closure of schools because of Covid-19 (Coronavirus). I believe I did complete the work I had originally set out to do today and hope that I keep as motivated as I currently am with this project to ensure the work is getting done. Tomorrow I will work on completing the first draft of my proposal.

Wednesday 1st April 2020 - 11:30am: Today I listened to feedback on my proposal and research. I have taken the feedback given this morning and I will now use this to go back to my proposal and re write it with a slightly reworked story in order to make it feel more like short film. I now also understand I have been taking the wrong direction in my research and need to stop looking into vehicle's used for a funeral and look more into aspects and structure of short films.
Wednesday 1st April - 12:24pm: I began reworking my proposal and have made good progress. I think I am making good progress today and I think my motivation has been boosted by the feedback I received,
Thursday 2nd April 2020 - 11:13am: I am sat here and feeling ready to go this morning. I am going to complete my new proposal draft today.

Friday 3rd April 2020 - 12:15pm: I have completed the task I set out to do and started researching short films. I did two today.
- I am happy with my work over the past three weeks and I am not worried about the rate I am progressing through it.
- As of Monday 6th till Friday 17th it is easter half term, however I will still work in this time in order to ensure I can be well ahead of the deadline and have more time to create a good quality piece of work.
Monday 6th April 2020 - 12:14: I will continue more short film structure research today.
Monday 6th April 2020 - 1:05pm: I have watched two more short films this afternoon and looked into the structure of them. Originally I had put down to start script work today, however I have delayed this until next week as I think it would be more suited to finish my short film structure research first.

Thursday 9th April 2020 - 12:30pm: I will now continue my short film structure research.
Thursday 9th April 2020 - 1:29pm: I spent some time watching the short film 'Maja' which turned out to be really insightful for me because it had a similar story telling approach to what I want to use in my short film but I was not quite short how I would go about approaching it, however I now have more of an idea in my brain about how I will now approach it. I am also continuing to work out common conventions of short films

Tuesday 14th April 2020 - 12:28pm: This morning I researched more short films and watched a film called Songbird where I started to recognise the repeated use of close up and face shorts in short films in order to create a tension.
Thursday 16th April 2020 - 11:53am: This morning I added and looked into the structure of the short film 'Lie Detector' to my research.
Sunday 19th April 2020 - 1:13: Today I added films 17 and 18 to my research and talked about pace and structure for both of them.

Monday 20th April 2020 - 9:30am: Despite the unfortunate events of the global pandemic still causing the UK to be in lockdown, today would have been the first day back from the easter holidays. This means that as off today I will go back to allocating more time in my day to doing college work and will hopefully be more motivated than what I was over easter. Today I will add the final film in my twenty film research and will follow it up by all the trends I have noticed. I will then go on to try and back these trends up by looking at articles and referencing them.
Monday 20th April - 11:16am: This morning I am happy with the chunk of work I completed and I am in the midst of backing up my findings with research from the internet.
Wednesday 22nd April - 10:34am: Today I will look into finishing up the section of research which I started on Monday.
Wednesday 22nd April - 11:33am: I have completed what I set out to complete today and next time I will start research into the setting and the environment the story will take place.
Thursday 23rd April - 11:02am: Today I will begin working on the details of the plot. I will start with looking at the place of residence as this is where the short will be shot, therefore has significant importance.
Thursday 23rd April - 11:42: Unfortunately I am finding myself not very motivated to work this morning, I have done a little but can keep my mind focused on the work so am going to proceed to come back to the work.
Friday 24th April 2020 - Today I added some research to the mise-en-scene section of the research page.
Sunday 26th April 2020 - 2:55am - In these early hours I had a sudden realisation that the path of mise-en-scene research is important for my film however is something I need to spend less time on. I spent some time tonight redoing some of the analysis on some of the shorts and will redo several more of these soon. I have also began to think about the most sensible path of research to continue down and one of the ideas that I have will involve primary research of sending out a survey to see what people recognise and like about short films. This way I will know what I should and should not include in my Short film
Monday 27th April 2020 - 10:40am - I will start looking into how the build up to funerals ad a funeral itself is portrayed in other film and TV programmes.
Monday 27th April 2020 - 11:57am - Today I started looking into other funeral representation in other film/TV programmes. I started today looking into the Netflix programme called 'Afterlife'.
Tuesday 28th April 2020 - 11:19am - I will continue looking into build up to funerals in other film and tv sources.
Thursday 30th April 2020 - 12:16am - Recently I have found myself working better in the later hours of the day as I am finding myself less motivated in the day time to do work. This evening I looked into a funeral scene in the teen mystery drama 'Riverdale'.
Thursday 30th April 2020 - 8:30PM: I am spending some time looking into how music can play a key part in my film.
Friday 1st May 2020 - 1:22pm: I have spent the past hour and a bit looking more into the effect of music in films. I managed to change my initial thoughts of just how important it is by looking into an adapted version of the 'Kuleshov effect'. Today was the first day in a while I have felt motivated to get on with my work for a good chunk of time in a while. I still believe this is down to the unfortunate situation of the Covid-19 pandemic and the UK Still being in lock down. It is an effect on morale.

Friday 8th May 2020 - 1:03am: It has come to my attention that I have not been taking into consideration the current state of the world with covid-19. After we come out of lockdown it is going to make the film in its current state hard to effectively shoot. In order to ensure something is done I have begun looking into how I can adapt the script to make it more reasonable to film on the current unavoidable situation we find ourselves in. I have also completed a form which I will send out to people to analyse what the effect on emotion by use of music in film is on people.
Tuesday 19th May 2020 - 2:16am - Over the past week I have been working on my script. This has taken many rewrites as I have not been happy with what I have written each time. On Thursday I spent some time ensuring that I know fully what I wanted to write and wrote a plot on my whiteboard. Since then, including just now I have been writing up a new version. This version has been my most successful version of the script yet.
Friday 29th May 2020 - 1:57am: Today I have finally began to add the results of my research survey on how music drives emotions to my research page. Late last week I completed the first full draft of my script. I am now going to adapt this slightly before I begin to start pre-production.
Unfortunately I have been forgetting to update this decision log and have been completing much less work recently due to a lack of motivation with being at home soon. I have also returned to work recently. I am going to make an effort to change this and begin to do more work when I can and carry on to update the decision log.
Monday 1st June 2020 - 8:34pm: Today I have found out my deadline for the project. This has motivated me to get going again. I plan to get all of my pre production work done by the end of this week. Tonight, despite saying the last draft would be the final one, I am going to re-write the script once more over the period of a day or two so that it is something I will actually enjoy working on.
Tuesday 2nd June 2020 - Today I spent my whole day completing the newest version of my script. I took from the tips I was given from the last version and incorporated them into this version of the script. I am really happy about this version and excited for it.
Wednesday 3rd June 2020 - 10:30am: This morning, before I go to work I am planning to try and get as many of the recce forms done for the locations as I can.
Wednesday 3rd June 2020 - 10:26pm: In line with some advice I was given with the script I made some formatting and narrative changes. These changes are all contributing to a better final product.
Thurday 4th June 2020 - 1:22pm: So far today I have done quite a bit of work on the project. I started the day off by once again making some more narrative amendments to my script. Following this I finished the Recce sheet and completed Risk Assessment forms. Just a few minutes ago I finished my Legal and ethical sheet. Next I plan to move onto my shooting script and shot list.
Saturday 6th June 2020 - 10:45pm: I am spending this evening finishing up my shooting script. I also plan to start my shot list which I intend to finish tomorrow.
Sunday 7th June 2020 - Today I got to the half way point on my shot list. Unfortunately the shot list is taking longer than I had originally anticipated but I aim to complete it by the end of Monday now.
Monday 8th June 2020 - Today I finished everything for pre production other than the storyboard which I plan to do shortly.
Friday 12th June 2020 - Today I filmed the first part of my film and I aim to do the rest tomorrow.
Saturday 13th June 2020 - Today I completed filming for the film. I am happy with that I got.
Monday 15th June 2020 - Today I have started to upload all my footage. This is going to take some hours due to the vast amount of footage but it should hopefully be ready to log by the end of the day.
Monday 15th June 2020 - After uploading all of the footage I discovered a fatal error in my camera settings. I was filming as the wrong aspect ratio. I have had to refilm part of it today and the rest tomorrow as a correction for this. I have not also got all release forms signed.
Tuesday 16th June 2020 - Today I completed reshoots.
Wednesday 17th June 2020 - 7:28pm - I have just finished shot logging all footage and will begin editing tomorrow.

Friday 29th May 2020 - 1:57am: Today I have finally began to add the results of my research survey on how music drives emotions to my research page. Late last week I completed the first full draft of my script. I am now going to adapt this slightly before I begin to start pre-production.
Unfortunately I have been forgetting to update this decision log and have been completing much less work recently due to a lack of motivation with being at home soon. I have also returned to work recently. I am going to make an effort to change this and begin to do more work when I can and carry on to update the decision log.
Monday 1st June 2020 - 8:34pm: Today I have found out my deadline for the project. This has motivated me to get going again. I plan to get all of my pre production work done by the end of this week. Tonight, despite saying the last draft would be the final one, I am going to re-write the script once more over the period of a day or two so that it is something I will actually enjoy working on.
Tuesday 2nd June 2020 - Today I spent my whole day completing the newest version of my script. I took from the tips I was given from the last version and incorporated them into this version of the script. I am really happy about this version and excited for it.
Wednesday 3rd June 2020 - 10:30am: This morning, before I go to work I am planning to try and get as many of the recce forms done for the locations as I can.
Wednesday 3rd June 2020 - 10:26pm: In line with some advice I was given with the script I made some formatting and narrative changes. These changes are all contributing to a better final product.
Thurday 4th June 2020 - 1:22pm: So far today I have done quite a bit of work on the project. I started the day off by once again making some more narrative amendments to my script. Following this I finished the Recce sheet and completed Risk Assessment forms. Just a few minutes ago I finished my Legal and ethical sheet. Next I plan to move onto my shooting script and shot list.
Saturday 6th June 2020 - 10:45pm: I am spending this evening finishing up my shooting script. I also plan to start my shot list which I intend to finish tomorrow.
Sunday 7th June 2020 - Today I got to the half way point on my shot list. Unfortunately the shot list is taking longer than I had originally anticipated but I aim to complete it by the end of Monday now.
Monday 8th June 2020 - Today I finished everything for pre production other than the storyboard which I plan to do shortly.
Friday 12th June 2020 - Today I filmed the first part of my film and I aim to do the rest tomorrow.
Saturday 13th June 2020 - Today I completed filming for the film. I am happy with that I got.
Monday 15th June 2020 - Today I have started to upload all my footage. This is going to take some hours due to the vast amount of footage but it should hopefully be ready to log by the end of the day.
Monday 15th June 2020 - After uploading all of the footage I discovered a fatal error in my camera settings. I was filming as the wrong aspect ratio. I have had to refilm part of it today and the rest tomorrow as a correction for this. I have not also got all release forms signed.
Tuesday 16th June 2020 - Today I completed reshoots.
Wednesday 17th June 2020 - 7:28pm - I have just finished shot logging all footage and will begin editing tomorrow.
